It's been a great summer and we are excited to be offering a new sculpture class, as well as our regular pottery classes in the pottery studio. First-timers always have fun giving the wheel a try, and we are getting ready to launch a 6 week class for more experienced students. We are thrilled to be hosting the HU OLLIE group this fall, as well as ASAP (Armed Services Art Partnership) for weekly choir practice and beginner watercolor.
September features the BFA installation of artist Lynn Trott, recent W&M graduate with a concentration in ceramics. The gallery becomes an imaginary forest as you wander through her whimsical woodland-inspired pieces. Join us for the opening reception during First Friday Artwalk, September 5 from 5 - 8pm.
Lynn will teach a handbuilding class Sept. 27, exploring mushroom shapes and other natural forms. See Class Registration for more information.
In October, we are honored to host the Blue Heron Chapter of the Sumi-e Society of America, for their member exhibition of Japanese style ink paintings. Join us for their opening reception on October 11 from 3 - 5pm. Artist Mike Lane will teach a Sumi-e workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 28. See class registration for more information.
